Gugulethu Sophie Mbatha, also popularly known as Gugu - is a British stage actress and film actor. Her fame was boosted by her role in BBC's 'Doctor Who' British science fiction television series. Her father worked as a used car seller. Her mother arrived in the United States in 1958, in the form of an immigrant from Germany. In 1989, she was diagnosed with cancer. She passed away 10 years later. Handler's dad is Jewish as was her mother. She raised up Reform Judaism. Handler was raised in a wonderful neighborhood with a happy upbringing. As a teenager She relocated to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in acting. Handler was obliged to be an actress in order to live. Handler started doing stand-up comedy full-time after she turned 21. Handler had realized that she was gifted with storytelling. Handler's career started as an actress on an all-female cast for the Oxygen channel's reality-TV show Girls acting badly. The show was a combination of hidden cameras as well as practical comedy. It was in air from 2002 until 2005. The host appeared on numerous shows including Weekends at D.L. The Bernie Mac Show The Practice as well as My Wife and Kids.
